Course-Source has accumulated an impressive amount of expertise since launching in 2001, expertise that has proved to be a great resource for broadcasters and journalists working in the field of e-learning.

Ken Wood – Founder and Director

A natural entrepreneur, Ken has a Computer Science Degree and has been involved in the UK training industry since 1991. Able to speak authoritatively on any aspect of e-learning, Ken’s particular strengths lie in his advanced technical knowledge. He has a wealth of business understanding and the ability to envision how technology can be best used to deliver results and adapted to provide customised solutions to client issues.

Chris Pendse – Operations Director

Chris has been working in the IT industry since 1992 and likes to think of himself as a 'creative' rather than a 'techie'. Graduating from Sussex University in Brighton, he worked as a technical support consultant before moving into a client facing role as an implementation manager for an IT company specialising in financial systems. He joined Ken Wood at Corporate Learning, getting involved in the development and launch of Course-Source and the Course-Source LMS.

Responsible for managing all Course-Source's major e-learning projects, he has a wealth of training technology and e-learning experience, notably running Course-Source’s 5 year project delivering ECDL training to 240,000 NHS employees. Whether it is integration with 3rd party HR systems, roll-out of enterprise-wide e-learning system or advice on content, Chris is your man.

Paul Higgins – Director of Sales and Marketing

Paul has been involved in the Education and Training industry for the last 10 years. Up to date with current trends in this rapidly changing environment, Paul has developed an extensive knowledge of client needs. His management experience covers all areas of e-learning including consultancy services, implementation, client adoption techniques and marketing to organisations with differing requirements that included structured, informal, blended and Social learning.

Laurence Wilson – Head of Instructional Design

Laurence is a CIPD member with 30 years corporate training experience who has tracked the progress of e-learning since the early days when computer-based training and interactive video were new technologies. He has particular expertise in the field of blended learning. Laurence has designed, developed and delivered countless corporate bespoke e-learning programmes and has won a National Training Award for his bespoke development in the medical field. He also teaches e-learning development.

Laurence worked previously as the Director of a national recruitment agency, Hestair Management Services which, together with Manpower Ltd trained the majority of the UK's recruitment consultants in the 1980's.

Matt Lyons – Lead Software Developer

Since graduating from Sussex University in 1996 Matt has worked on web development projects ranging from Intranet applications for industrial clients, to e-commerce for leading sports bookmakers, to content management systems for AOL dealing with millions of end users.

Matt has also managed teams of software developers and support engineers and worked directly with customers in requirements analysis, estimation and technical analysis.

On joining Course Source in spring of 2007, he instigated a number of projects to implement industry best practice within the development team, as well as working on the foundations of the next generation of the Course Source learning management system.

Matt's responsibilities at Course Source also include managing the software development team and providing technical analysis and estimates for new projects.

Kevin Inskip – Partnerships Manager

Kevin is an experienced Sales & Marketing Professional with a proven track record in a variety of advanced technical markets. A Sheffield University graduate with a Management Studies Diploma from Sheffield Hallam University, Kevin has been able to dramatically increase turnover in all companies he has worked for through both personal effort and the management of virtual, multi-discipline teams.

Significantly, Kevin has provided independent business development consultancy for a number of software development companies and, significantly, for the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) – to increase membership of a service set-up to promote and spread the use of e-learning in the Local Government authorities in England & Wales.

Kevin has responsibility for managing and acquiring e-learning content vendor partners and reseller channel partners for the whole range of Course-Source learning solutions.

Simon Perkins - Business Development Manager

Simon graduated from Greenwich University in 1992 and has since provided IT solutions and services to the NHS and Private Healthcare organisations, most recently as a Business Development Manager with Course-Source Ltd. He has also worked as a Personal Development Coach during which time he contributed towards several projects including 'Turning the Corner in Education', a publication dedicated to improving education through coaching and personal effectiveness. Simon also set up the UK’s first competitive tennis league for 9-16 year olds.

Matt Middleton – Business Development Manager

Matt is a Business Development Manager with nearly 10 years’ Sales and Account Management experience. Before joining Course-Source Matt held the position of Account Manager for large blue-chip organisations including Gillette and Heritage. He also founded Effective Recruiters - a small but successful Sales Recruitment company. Matt is educated to degree level and has had experience working abroad, particularly in America.
